F#%@ing 2 1/2 Feet of Snow in October!
13 October 2006 – 2:44 pm
It’s Friday the 13th and I’m suppose to flying back to Buffalo for my cousin’s wedding later today.
How does mother nature welcome me back to Buffalo? With 2 1/2 FEET OF SNOW in the middle of October!
- 350,000 people without power until early next week,
- Trees are down everywhere,
- The Hotel, Church, Reception Hall, Family Farm… no power,
- The family farm has well water… so no power, no water,
- The snow is so high in spots that the cows can walk over the fence and a ton of them appear to be missing,
- Besides the farm, my father also work for the town highway department and has been at work for over 35 hrs straight at this point.
If the wedding is still a go, it will at least be amusing to see how everyone looks (without power).
And people wonder why I live in California.
—– Update —–

- The wedding / reception went as scheduled and it was a blast seeing everyone (we had electricity and all did the electric slide),
- I did however get ready for the wedding at the Hotel (electricity) and not my parent’s place (no electricity),
- It was absolutely insane how many trees / powerlines were down… I drove over at least five downed powerlines on my way from the airport to my parent’s farm,
